Diogo Nogueira is a painter and a visual artist based in Porto, Portugal. His practice delves into the realm of Image, contemporary iconography in gesture, and sexuality through Painting, drawing, ceramic, and installations.
Infused with wit and humour, his creations aim to construct a shared mythology, weaving together the threads of personal and collective narratives.
DIOGO NOGUEIRA (Porto, 1999) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Painting, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
He has participated in various competitions and exhibitions, having been shortlisted for multiple awards, notably wining the first prize at the VI Espinho International Art Biennial (Aveiro). Diogo has held solo and collective exhibitions with renowned artist in notable institutions, like National Museum Soares dos Reis (2019), Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Galleries (2020), Júlio Resende Foundation (2021). He has also exhibited internationally at Academy of Fine Arts of Murcia and Academy of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires.
His work is represented in private and public collections in Portugal, Spain, Germany and England; including the notable collections Solverde Casinos & Hotels, APF Foundation collections and José Lima collections.
Since 2021, as founder of ‘O Bueiro’ – Art space, he has established collaborations with institutions like University of Porto and The Drawing Club (Porto). Recently, in 2022, he was integrated in the art-space ‘Drawing Club (Porto)’ as Resident Artist, Guest Professor, and member.
